It is amazing that the press and general public has been fooled again into believing the Walking Horse group has "cleaned up". As long as the "Big Lick" gait is exibited the horse is ABUSED! This gait can not be gotten any other way. Pavlov could teach a dog to salivate when a bell was rung, the trainers of TN Walkers have acheived the same training results. Stop the "Big Lick" and stop the "setting of tails". Both are barbaric practices and not necessary if you know how to train and ride; which 99.999% of Walking Horse trainers, owners, and riders do not know how to do.

You are very passionate about this Ellen. Good for you!

I never understood why tail setting and big shoes was ever allowed to start with. I need to study more history on the Big Licks and the Saddlebreds to see what the thought was.
